Camp Pendleton South

Please note that the base requires all volunteers to have proper identification which must be submitted at least 10 days prior entering the base. You will need to apply for a Volunteer pass at the Visitors Center at Camp Pendleton. Instructions for this will be sent to you when you sign up. Additionally you will need to bring a valid US Passport or Real ID driver license, Proof of Car Insurance and Car Registration to be able to drive on base.

Driving Directions and Entrance Instructions:
Volunteers meet at the beach at Del Mar Jetty on Camp Pendleton off the 5 Freeway, exit at Oceanside Harbor/Camp Pendleton.

Please plan on arriving at the gate at 8:15 a.m. As you enter the checkpoint, stay to the right through the “Visitors Entrance.” Once through, STAY RIGHT and follow the signs to Wire Mountain Road, Del Mar Beach. This road will take you back over the 5 FWY and will continue North parallel to the FWY. Turn Left at 12th Street and enter Del Mar Beach Resort. Once at the beach, head south again with the ocean on your right to the end of the parking lot. WE MEET PAST THE MAIN LIFEGUARD TOWER (about 200-yards south) AT THE NEXT SET OF BATHROOMS NEAR THE LAST JETTY BEFORE THE MARINA. LOOK FOR THE JMMF TENTS.

10:15 AM Opening Discussion
10:25 AM Stretch session and on the beach surf instruction
10:35 AM Ocean Therapy (surf, body surfing etc.) – Session 1
11:00 AM Break and Discussion
11:10 AM Ocean Therapy (surf, body surfing etc.) – Session 2
12:15 PM Wetsuits off – grab lunch
12:30 PM Lunch and Group Discussion
1:00 PM Clean up and break down
1:30 PM Participants and volunteers say goodbye
