OCEANSIDE, Calif. — The Jimmy Miller Foundation has been using ocean and surfing to help those suffering from mental and physical illness, injuries and disabilities for decades.

From kids, women and health care workers to military members, the South Bay-based foundation has been using the power of the ocean to help thousands of people.

Spectrum News took a look at one program at Camp Pendleton, where Marines in the Wounded Warrior Battalion-West are invited to join ocean therapy sessions, which are run by a licensed therapist.

During a recent session, Kai Rivera, who enlisted in the Marines in 2018, explained how the ocean therapy program has helped him cope with PTSD, severe depression and anxiety.
