THE JIMMY SURF FIESTA – Recap

Jeff Miller, Kevin Cody Greg Browning Pat Reardon

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making the 2024 Jimmy Surf Fiesta such an amazing day. From our presenting sponsors – MB Rotary Club and Fresh Brothers Pizza, to our volunteers, raffle and Beach Award donors, and our participants, it was a great community outpouring of love and support. And thank you to Mother Nature for sending us some  surf (finally!) and sun for the day.

Congratulations to the winning team and second place team – it was the Girls vs. Redeem Team (all of the boys had lost on previous heats and combined for a Finals team). In the end, the Girls Dream Team backed up their callout of the boys and took the Title.

Local surfers formed five-member teams to compete for bragging rights, and to raise funds for the Jimmy Miller Foundation last Saturday, in El Porto. Many of the participants were friends of Jimmy Miller, the foundation’s namesake, who succumbed to mental illness 20 years ago.
