The annual Jimmy Miller Foundation’s BeneFiesta is known for its high energy, celebratory air. This year’s BeneFiesta also bore a dramatically emotional air with the singing of two songs written in Miller’s memory. One was by Ed Quinn, who wrote his song with Miller when the two were on a surf trip to Bali in 1996. The other was sung by Jim Lindberg, who wrote his song in the days following Miller’s passing. Neither Quinn nor Lindberg had ever previously preformed their songs in public.

This year’s BeneFiesta, held Saturday, July 20, commemorated the 20th anniversary of Miller’s death.

The Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation offers surfing and other forms of ocean therapy to the Wounded Warrior Battalion at Camp Pendleton, and to other trauma victims.
